Another day at the MTC

The wall map in our first post is in the hall of the administrative building.  It is for all missionaries to look at to find the place they will be serving as well as showing other missionaries where they came from.  It was fun to see other missionaries looking at it and pointing to various places on the maps.

On Tuesday night we attended a devotional for all missionaries called to serve.  What a sight to see a wave of missionaries walking from the MTC to the Marriott Center for the devotional.  Elders in their suits and sisters in their best, converging on the sidewalks heading to the devotional by the thousands.

The speaker was Matthew O. Richardson, second counselor in the Sunday School presidency.  What a special experience we had that evening.  This picture, on the left, is the stone which caught the eye of a young man, President David O. McKay while on his mission in Scotland. For those of us our age and older we might recall this saying, written at the top and bottom of the stone, "Where E're Thou Art, Act Well Thy Part".  This saying on this stone helped to inspire President David O. McKay and his companion to rededicate themselves to work harder and wiser during their missions. See story below.

This last picture speaks for its self.  The three of us sitting in the MTC foyer with the pictures of the  current 12 apostles.

Our week in the MTC was one of the best weeks of our married lives.  What we learned and what we experienced is beyond words.  The Spirit that we felt and the association with all the Senior Missionary couples is something that we will remember and treasure for the rest of our lives.  We encourage any of our senior friends, if you are even thinking or considering a mission, do all you can to make this happen.  It has been wonderful so far and we are looking forward to put into practice all we learned over the next 12-18 months.
